स वै पुंसां परो धर्मो यतो भक्तिरधोक्षजे ।

अहैतुक्यप्रतिहता ययात्मा सम्प्रसीदति ॥

Suta Goswami answers the first question: The supreme occupation (dharma) for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self.

He further explains that all the activities one performs are useless unless they provoke attraction for the message of the Lord. The essence of this chapter is that devotion (Bhakti) is the easiest and most effective path to spiritual perfection, as it directly connects the soul with the Supreme source of joy.
